NXT 05/15/14

Tonight’s NXT we’re in Winter Park, Florida and our announcers are William Regal, Byron Saxton and Tom Philips.  If you haven’t checked out NXT yet I say now is the time to be tuning in, there is a lot of talent!

We open with The Ascension.

The Ascension vs. Buddy Murphy & Elias Sampson

This was a non-title match and kind of a reminder match to all wrestlers and fans alike that The Ascension are “THE TEAM” of NXT! We end the match with Viktor tagging in and knocking Sampson off the apron and they hit the Fall of Man on Murphy for the three count.  Was anyone surprised with this match?  I know I Wasn’t.

Winner: The Ascension

After the match, Konor takes the mic and says that they have laid waste to every team in the NXT Universe. Viktor says that they want to be brought something new to destroy.

Kalisto and El Local (AKA Ricardo Rodriguez), the new tag team I love, make their way to the stage. They will make a challenge to the Ascension. El Local tells the Ascension to catch them if they can while Kalisto says ‘Lucha’.  What can I say about Kalisto, I love his  wrestling style.  He has some great moves.

Sami Zayn is in the back with Veronica Lane saying he is obsessed with taking the title and tonight, he moves one step closer to achieving that if he wins.

NXT Women’s Championship Tournament

Charlotte vs. Alexa Bliss

New girl Alexa Bliss in her little blue and white outfit is up against Charlotte tonight.  While I do stand firm on the fact that Alexa is adorable she doesn’t hold a candle to Charlotte in the wrestling department.  And really isn’t it about the wrestling?

We end the match with Alexa trying for a cross body but Charlotte catches her and hits a powerful back breaker and ends with her finisher “Bow Down To The Queen.”

Winner: Charlotte

Tyler Breeze says hello to the NXT Universe. He says that he will be the number one contender for the NXT Championship laughing  at the thought of Tyson Kidd or Sami Zayn winning the match as they  are both Canadians and lack the genetic make up to be gorgeous.  Tyler says that he will do whatever it takes to win. All is fair in love and triple threats. As a Canadian I think Pretty Boy Tyler Breeze needs a face buster from some Canadian Wrestlers -just saying.

Mojo Rawley vs. Aiden English (Drama King)

So this is an exciting match as the weeks go by I’m beginning to enjoy these NXT wresters more and more.  I’m starting to really enjoy Rawley. We end with English with a near fall from a DDT and then a reverse chin lock. Then it’s Rawley with a slam, a kick to English, a shoulder tackle and clothesline before landing a Stinger Splash and a running butt bump followed by Hyperdrive for the three count.

Winner: Mojo Rawley

Tyson Kidd is asked about the Triple Threat Match. He says that he believes in hard work and second chances. The people who are making an impact on the main roster came from NXT. He will be the leader of this group and he will be the champion.

Colin Cassady vs. Angelo Dawkins

Cassady basically dominated this match ending with hitting a high knee before doing his spell-a-long with the crowd before hitting a big boot, finishing with the East River Crossing for the three count.

Winner: Colin Cassidy

John Layfield is in the back and Bo Dallas stops John to talk about the Triple Threat Match. Bo says that he has something for John to see, it is letters from BOLIEVERS around the world demanding another title match. Bo says that he told them on his hotline that it wouldn’t be fair. If nothing is done, then John will be inundated with letters.  John says that they should give these letters to CJ Parker so they can be recycled. John says that if Bo can beat his next opponent he will get a title shot or if he loses he is gone from WWE.  Bo asks John who his opponent is and John says that he will give Bo FIVE guesses.  Bo guesses John Cena, obviously he is wrong, he’ll be facing Big E. Bo reminds John that he beat Big E to win his title.  Bo thanks John and walks away.  I have to say I do not love this new Bo storyline at all.

NXT Championship #1 Contender’s Triple Threat Match Tyson Kidd vs. Tyler Breeze vs. Sami Zayn

This was a great match.  We start off with all three wrestlers waiting for someone to make a move as they circle each other.  After an exchange of kicks and punches between the three competitors, Kidd goes up top but Breeze lands a forearm to crotch Kidd on the corner buckle then Zayn connects with a kick on Breeze. Kidd sends Zayn to the floor and elbow drops Breeze from the turnbuckles for the three count.

Winner: Tyson Kidd (Faces Adrian Neville at NXT Takeover)

NXT went by way too quick tonight.  I was wishing for more!  I’m so looking forward to NXT Takeover.
